MyPadMedia Review: Is It Worth the Membership Fee?

In general, I reluctantly review pay-per-view or membership websites, simply because I don’t like paying for something that I can get for free. But since the iPad is so new, and the demand for iPad apps is only going to grow more and more, I decided it would be worthwhile to do some research on the subject that many new iPad owners require. keep reading

Not too long ago I got a new iPad with 3G for my birthday, an amazing new device from Apple. It took me quite a while to figure out all the different features, but once I got the hang of it, I was able to master all the intricacies of the new device pretty easily. After using it for some time I was a bit disappointed with the limited media it came with. Mind you, it definitely had some great features and pre-installed apps, but I was left wanting more apps, media, and books on my new device. I wanted to know how much data it can actually hold.

The first place I visited was Apple’s own app store, aptly named the Apps Store. They offer a variety of iPad media, books and games, some are free and some are not. Most of the popular apps cost between $10 and $14 on average. Given these facts, the cost of purchasing some apps, media, or e-books can really add up. So, my journey to discover the cheapest source for all my download needs for Apple’s latest creation began.

Like most people, I started my search on Google and discovered that there are not many sites that specialize in iPad downloads. I found few and among those that caught my attention, due to the attractive design of their website, was myPadMedia. It is a relatively new site that appeared at the time of the launch of the iPad. The sales page looked clean and professional, easy to navigate. The main point on the website highlighted the fact that you have unlimited access to download all iPad apps, media and books absolutely free. Of course, he wanted to investigate further. In addition to the amount of content, I want to find out the quality of the content that was available and how other users felt about your service.

So, I dug deeper into my research to find out as much as I could about the site and its services. What I discovered was that there were quite a few satisfied myPadMedia users posting their comments and experiences on forums and social media. However, there were few unhappy users of the site. Therefore, he wanted to explore more.

As I am known to be a skeptic, I did not want to believe everything that was written on the forums where one can easily disguise themselves as a user, when in fact they are the agents of the company. The only way to investigate the true nature of their service and product was to become a member and find out for myself how it all worked. In addition, they highlighted the ’60 day money back guarantee’ on the home page of their website in bold. If you weren’t satisfied with the service or materials, you had plenty of room to get away with the money-back guarantee. I immediately signed up for their membership hoping to find a great source for all my iPad download needs while also getting a little insight into what I might find inside.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that myPadMedia delivers what they promised on their sales page. The sheer volume of materials that are available for anyone to download is tremendous. From obscure e-books to rare manga to the latest popular games, they were all available to download at no extra charge. The quantity was enormous, but the quality of the materials available was quite illuminating. I didn’t expect to find some of the rarest manga collections, but they were available for immediate download.

The web interface was easy to navigate and easy to understand right away. Unlike other download sites, you don’t need to install additional software or learn a new application to use the downloads. With just a few keystrokes on your keyboard to search and a simple click of your mouse, you can download what you’ve been looking for. Whatever app or books or other media you want, you’re sure to find them in their database.

Like all good things, there are some drawbacks. Many of the materials found in its database are available for free from the Apple Apps Store. Also, you can purchase e-books, comics, newspapers, magazines, and any other media for free just by doing your own research on the web. What myPadMedia does is put all the materials into its searchable database, so you don’t have to scour the entire web to get what you want.

Is it worth paying a one-time fee of $49.95 for their services? Well, it depends on who you really are. If you’re strapped for cash and willing to spend a few hours or even days searching for that title or media you really want for free, then myPadMedia probably isn’t for you. On the other hand, if you’re simply looking for all of your iPad’s download needs at a minimal cost, then the upfront fee might not be a major factor in your decision. But having an iPad download source other than the Apple Apps Store gives consumers like you and me the option to make our own decision.
