Jamaican Peter Lloyd Claims Hearts Singing Oh My Darling

Some people see him as a charmer. Others throw negative criticism his way, fewer even refer to him as an “iron balloon.” However, whatever the vision, Peter Lloyd, a down-to-earth soul will rise beyond the horizons sooner than skeptics think. With past hits like Dem Seh Gold Digga, and singles like Ready For Love, Walk Through Fire, Wake Dem Up, as he has already started. In 2000, his first album to date, the critically acclaimed Transitions, was produced on the Gem-Kkept record label.

The movie actor-turned-singer released the single Oh My Dahling, which is also on the platform set for a legend. This gift causes listeners to anticipate another full album. However, fans will still be pleased with the confirmation that another Perfect Body single is slated for a January 2009 release date. The Oh My Dahling video is conceptualized by Jamaican thoroughbred Peter Lloyd, who also directed it working alongside cameraman Richard Lyn. As usual, his productions are subtle depictions of Jamaican culture, but are done in a way that listeners learn rather than judge too much. Until now, Wake Dem Up is a cry to bring Jamaicans to the reality of existing negative experiences, but also to their abilities in Jah to improve themselves, be strong and productive, due to their innate talent. I’m sure other nations can relate to this song.

In Oh My Dahling, he represents the average Jamaican man, too attracted to today’s women to step aside. Respectfully admiring them, however, the depicted male figure endeavors to pick a flower for his already pruned garden. It’s funny, and in the end, the one rose he makes bloom is suddenly filled with other flowers that he secretly watered.

Tunes like Clementine’s are borrowed, a common assault on the music industry. Oh My Dahling currently (Q4 2008) claims the number one spot on Bess FM, number 4 on RE-TV’s video countdown, and is charting on Hitz 92 FM.

We are reminded of Dem seh Gold Digga (“They Say Gold Digger”), which is still as fresh and current as when it became a hit.

Oh My Dahling is well choreographed, and thankfully, as with Lloyd’s other videos, which are also directed and produced by him, it’s not just about showing off body parts. The lyrics are not complicated and are as catchy as the rhythms embodied in a purr. As with his other songs, due respect is given to Jamaican women, regardless of the obstacles they face.

Peter has a unique marketing style that so far seems to be working. He’s not a fanfare man, so sending waves of him over the Internet is up to the loving nature of him. Two of his singles can be found on Youtube, where you can also log in to comment. You can watch Wake dem up, then came Oh My Dahling.
