Different types of materials used to make a plumbing system
The fluid conduction system for different uses is known as plumbing. Appliances and fixtures such as pipes, tanks, plumbing fixtures, and valves are used to pass fluids. General uses for plumbing include waste disposal, heating and cooling (HVAC), and portable water supply, but they have other uses as well.
Plumbing Systems- The different types of plumbing systems are as follows:
• Fuel gas pipe
• Sewer systems and septic systems with or without hot water recycling, gray water recovery and treatment system.
• Supply of hot and cold drinking water from the tap
• Drainage of rainwater, surface and groundwater
• Plumbing drain vent
What is a water pipe?
A plastic or metal surface that carries treated fresh water and pressurized water to distribute water to buildings is known as a water pipe.
Materials used for plumbing-
Steel bands with wrapped sacred wooden logs were used for plumbing pipes basically for water mains. Today, most plumbing systems are made of plastic, steel, copper, earth, cast iron, and steel.
Steel
Pipes, such as galvanized steel portable water supply and distribution pipes, are primarily found with average pie sizes from 3/6 inch (9.5 mm) to 2 inches (51 mm). This system is hardly used today. Female tapered threads on couplers, elbows, valves, tees and other fittings are connected by standard National Pipe Thread (NTP) tapered male threads. The cost of galvanized steel (also known as “galv” or “iron”) is much higher and they are not easy to handle due to the need for a pipe threader. To meet building code non-combustibility requirements, not typically found in apartment buildings, hotels, or other commercial applications. The existing “galv” is still in general use. They are resistant and durable to mechanical abuse.
Copper
They are generally used for domestic irrigation systems. The rise in the price of copper has lowered the demand for copper, which has also translated into increased demand for PEX and stainless steel.

Plastic is the most widely used product for household purposes and drainage, drainage and ventilation (DWV) pipes. The main types of pipe include: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which was invented experimentally in the 19th century but became practical in 1926.
