All products have to reach the public in some way, and they are not going to be magically sold to consumers. A brand ambassador’s job is to promote products to people, whether it’s door-to-door, on the street, or in private practices (think Kirby Vacuum).

Or, you’ll befriend other demonstrators and ask them for a referral. Many merchants work for numerous companies and get wages and daily expenses from all of them.

Gordon Vaughan of Mogul Solutions says that “Anyone who is punctual, can smile and has a generally good attitude (or can fake it for eight hours) can be a brand ambassador and make $200 in a weekend.”
When you go to major stores (Wallmart, Costco, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) you’ll find people who are stocking shelves with brochures, taking inventory, or setting up display units. These are called vendors, dealers, or demo staff. This is usually a part-time effort and will often take place when the store has a special event or sale.
Independent contractor
Because this is a part-time position, you will earn a higher salary but no benefits. You will be classified as an independent contractor and will be issued an IRS 1099 at the end of the year if you have earned $600 or more.
Some companies will also give you the product they are demonstrating ahead of time so that you become familiar with the different uses. Our son, Andrew, got a camera, two phones, and several sporting goods because he was hired to demonstrate them for a weekend.
