How to Get Rid of Anxiety: Reverse Psychology

Hello. My name is David A. Bye from Moorhead, Minnesota, a city of about 30,000 located on the east bank of the Red River, the only river in the northern hemisphere that flows north instead of south.

Why less geography, David? I clicked on this site to find out how to get rid of my anxiety! Well, to tell the truth, I wanted to put in your mind, not only a river that flows in the opposite direction and seems to defy nature, but also to tell you about a program that for me goes against logic.

What does that mean?

I have had a problem with panic and anxiety for over twenty years and during those “twenty plus years” almost every book I have read and every therapist I have been given has told me how to avoid panic attacks. I believe I am an unofficial yoga teacher when it comes to meditation, a dietitian, and an exercise guru.

You see, I thought that with enough meditation, enough of the right foods in the right amounts, exercise done correctly, and prescribed medication methodically applied, my anxiety wouldn’t stand a chance and I would be free to live my life as if I had never heard the phrase, “Attack.” panic!” But, probably like you, I found that I still had these scary and inconvenient episodes. I felt destined to have this limited life, where every trip to the store had to be planned in every detail: knowing where all the traffic lights and stop signs were and of course the bathrooms. Let’s not forget about the bathrooms. And of course, my safety blanket: A bottle of my dandy-prescribed calming pills, just in case.

I don’t know how I found out about the “Panic Away” show. All I know is that I found it.

Barry MacDonogh, who once suffered from panic attacks, developed a program that, to me, went against logic and psychology. Here was a man telling me not only to invite panic into my life with open arms, but to give him permission to be as bad as he wanted to be. As strange as it sounds, as entrenched in averted panic as my mind was, what he said…made sense.

So, first of all, when you think of the title of this show, “Panic Away,” think of it this way. Remember the movie “Sudden Impact” with Clint Eastwood playing “Dirty” Harry Callaghan, pointing his big bad .44 Magnum at the heads of the bad guys and saying, “Go ahead and make my day”? Well, think of him saying, “Go ahead, Panic Away.” MacDonogh teaches that trying to ignore panic thoughts and panic attacks is like trying to tell yourself that you shouldn’t be happy or hungry. The more energy we use to ignore what is already there, the fear of another panic attack, the stronger that thought becomes. I realized that he was right because all my energy was focused on not having what I already had… Panic.

So I bought the show and watched the videos as MacDonogh talked to me and showed me that he knew what I was going through. I have to tell you that when I heard it I saw a man who was really at peace. Someone who was confident and competent. He was not a snake oil salesman. What he was saying really clicked with me.

His words reassured me that while panic was an unpleasant feeling, no one had ever died of a panic attack or gone insane. All these things I knew before, but he anticipated my thoughts and put me in order with such ease. It was a good place to start the show, just watching and listening to the information.

It also has a 200+ page accompanying book that reiterates what happens in the videos, plus a wealth of relevant information and practical applications and an easy-to-follow outline of what to do every day. There is a section on their website to keep a journal and track your anxiety level, plus if you want to try using the online therapist for a week for a dollar you can. After that, the price is $97.00/mo. I would recommend this for people who are new to managing their anxiety issues. For me, I passed on the offer, just because I have a lot of experience working with programs and am familiar with the flow of programs.

MacDonogh also addresses setbacks. Some days will be good and some days will be bad as you begin to challenge your panic and anxiety. He puts a nice happy face on your anxiety. It’s a wonderful approach to things.

It also touches on meditation, medication, visual imagery, and diet. It is a very holistic approach to the subject. What I personally like the most is that it does not detract from the medication. I continue to take various antidepressants and I know how good they have done me. He does not judge in that area. He didn’t create the program to tell those on drugs that they’re on the wrong track. He created the program to help everyone who has an anxiety problem.

I also like that the program is not that expensive, for me anyway…about $67.00. I also liked that if the program didn’t work for me, I could return it within 60 days, no questions asked. I have purchased other products through the company that distributes, “Panic Away” and I have never had a problem returning anything. Period.

I have rarely felt so strong with a program like this. It has changed and continues to change my life for the better every day. For me, this program is great. It can be for you too. If you are looking for a program that addresses your panic and anxiety problem, try “Panic Away”. You have nothing to lose and much to win.
