Famous Pensacola Marinas

Pensacola is one of the most popular destinations in Florida. The northwestern Florida city has a reputation for being a hospitable and affordable alternative to cities like Miami.

It’s no surprise that Pensacola has a number of truly excellent marinas waiting to serve boaters and boaters alike. Boaters should have no trouble finding service or a place to stay in Pensacola.

Brown Marine Services is a full service marina and boatyard affiliated with the USBoat brand. It is located on Bayou Chico in Pensacola and is ready to serve boats of all shapes and sizes.

Brown Marine offers a wide variety of services including complete bottom work, blister repair, damage surveys, diesel engine repair, diesel engine parts, fiberglass work, salvage, electrical work, and towing. Various on-site contractors provide other services to the ships. Other services offered include a boat shop, licensed yacht brokerage, generator sales, a 50 ton efficient travel lift, and nationwide yacht transportation. Rebuilt engines are also available.

Saville Harbor at Pitt Slip is a nice place to stay in Pensacola. The Marina offers boaters 98 moorings, floating docks, gasoline, diesel fuel, showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities. This is a good no frills place for a boater to spend the night.

Another good no-frills marina that offers boaters berths for the night is Palafox Pier & Yacht Harbor. This facility offers boaters 92 berths and a few amenities. These include cable TV, a concrete floating box, a small ship’s store, single-phase, three-phase and 100-amp electrical service, laundry, restrooms and a fuel dock offering gas and diesel.

A company called Pensacola Marinas runs three Marinas in Pensacola: Yacht Harbor Marina, Island Cove Marina, and Palm Harbor. Pensacola Marinas advertises Island Cove Marina as the most sheltered marina in the Pensacola area. Island Cove has a full-time dock manager, security lighting, a security gate, and live-in employees to keep an eye on the boats.

Palm Harbor Marina, near the mouth of Bayou Chico, has a new floating dock system that is capable of surviving a Category 3 hurricane when full of boats. The docks are supposedly guaranteed against hurricane damage by the manufacturer.

Yacht Harbor, also located near the mouth of Bayou Chico, is another marina with a new dock system.

Island Cove Marina and Palm Harbor offer boaters sheltered moorings, showers, restrooms, laundry, ice, paved parking, utility carts, power hookups, water hookups, phone hookups, satellite TV, cable TV, lights security and security doors. Both marinas are protected by a full-time dock captain. Island Cove also offers boaters Wi-Fi, an onboard store, beer and wine, a clubhouse, pool tables, a widescreen TV, a community kitchen, a fish cleaning table, a BBQ grill, palm trees and a sandy beach. Palm Harbor also has a covered dock patio, wi-fi, an office, TV, dirty grills, a BBQ, palm trees and a dirty dock.

Yacht Harbor offers protected moorings, restrooms, showers, a covered gravel parking lot, utility carts, power hookups, water hookups, security lights, a security gate, a full-time dock master, and a covered patio. .
