Portable sinks are great partners for dorm room occupants

The dream life can be quite a challenge. You are considered lucky if you can get a single room to yourself. But the most common thing that can happen to you is that you end up sharing the room with another person. Single or shared room, the amenities you will find in your bedroom are very limited. What you will have is a basic bed, a mattress, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a desk and a chair. Depending on your dorm building, you may have a bathroom within your own room or expect to find a common bathroom where all the residents of your floor will have to share.

One of the many drawbacks to living in a dormitory is that you won’t have a sink or running water inside your room. Although the bathroom sink is down the hall, you probably need something more sanitary where you can wash your coffee cup or eating utensils. There are many dorms that allow you to bring a microwave, toaster oven, small fridge, and hot pot with auto shutoff so you can do some cooking for yourself. As long as you are allowed such things, you should have a portable sink unit with you.

Portable sinks are great companions for dorm room occupants. These things are well equipped with the basic features of a functional kitchen sink. You will have your stainless steel sink, faucet and counter that you can use to wash clean dishes and wash your hands. The common sink that you have in your dorm building is sure to be full of bacteria and germs. Imagine cleaning your glasses, fork, spoon or plate in there and you could end up with contaminated utensils for later use. It would also be a bit unpleasant to rinse fresh vegetables or fruits like carrots, cucumbers and apples in the communal bathroom. But with a portable sink, you can have a licensed and health code compliant restroom that you can use.

Water supply and waste collection is not a problem with portable sink units. Each unit contains tanks for fresh water and waste water. Clean water can be supplied in 5 gallons while waste water can be collected in 6 gallon tanks. They would not look like an eyesore as they are encased within a beautifully made wooden cabinet. Arranging the sink within your room won’t be a problem as caster wheels are installed underneath so you can easily push and pull it to where you want to place it.
