The first BIG LIE you were told was that if you call all your friends and family, you will be successful! They preach that all you have to do is give them a call and they will be so excited about what you have to offer that they will jump at the chance to join your MLM business. They say things like: if you get 2 people and they get 2 people, etc. When I tried this I found that I had a 3% success rate on recruiting and then 80% of them dropped out. They never tell you the secrets of MLM/

This is the biggest lie they tell you, because they want to make it sound like anyone can do this. The fact is, instead of lying to you, they should be teaching you marketing to make you successful. So the first big MLM secret is learning how to market!

The Second Lie they tell you is, “this is good for everyone!” This is just misleading and wrong. There are many reasons people won’t join your downline: they think it’s a pyramid scheme, they love their JOB, they’re afraid to work for themselves, they’re morally against making a lot of money, or they’re just lazy.

The fact is, if you were building a professional baseball team, would you recruit your friends and family? Would you hire the waitress from Applebee’s? No, you would find experienced players and recruit them. So the next big MLM secret is recruiting other MLMers.

The third big lie is “this is not selling, it is sharing”. This drives me crazy. It’s true if I recommended a great place to eat and shared it with you, it carries a lot of weight. But, if I’m the owner of the restaurant and I tell them it’s great, I have a vested interest. People know the difference! They’ll get your attention, and you’ll grope and act like you’re doing this just for them. You see they put you in a position to lie.

The fact is that we are all in sales every day of our lives. You had to sell yourself when you met your partner. You have to sell all the time! It’s part of life. So the next big MLM secret is to be good at selling! This one could make you millions!

The fourth lie your upline tells you is, “Once they join, they’ll love the products so much they’ll stick around forever.” Now this is correct lie. First, people don’t join your downline to get the products; they come together to make a lot of money. If you joined a gym and worked out every day and never lost weight, would you stay because they have a great trainer?

The fact is that you enter MLM with a goal in mind, if you don’t reach it you leave. You don’t just stay for the products, even if they are great, you can buy something similar almost anywhere. The next big MLM secret is making sure your downline succeeds early!

The fifth big lie is, “it’s all about attitude.” This is crazy. I admit that a good attitude can take you a long way toward success, but it’s a small part of the big picture. No matter how many times you say “I can,” there is still a chance that you will fail. Now if I think positively and learn marketing and how to sell etc. I will be successful.

So the final big secret to MLM is to be positive, but be pragmatic. Always be learning and doing. Never sit idly by and smile thinking that everything will be fine, you have to do something. This is just another MLM secret they never share, for more ideas…
