Logo Design – Company Face

Just like a handshake or the first meeting with a person will make an instant impression on the person, similarly, the logo will determine the opinion about the company at first sight. It reflects the essence of the company through which customers recognize it and relate to it. A logo design that is attractive, attractive and makes an impact on the target audience is a powerful tool for company promotion. A professionally designed logo can make a small or home-based business look more stable, recognizable, and successful. The logo can also help give a company its own identity, allowing potential customers to differentiate the company’s services or products from those of its competitors. A well-designed logo is a reflection of one’s character. One may think “if this company takes good care of its business and its brand, it will also take good care of its customers”.

Key to effective logo design

A good graphic designer should take note of a few things to ensure that the logo is effective, the most important of which is the uniqueness of the design. A company logo should in no way be a replica of an existing logo, as it can lead to bad publicity. The logo design should be such that it represents the main principle of the company and looks good in all sizes, be it on a billboard or a business card. A complex design not only loses its details in a small size, but also makes it difficult for the client to process and understand. Color is also another important consideration and should not conflict with or misrepresent the functionality of the design. Colors should be easily associated with the character of the company and the type of business it represents.

Professional logo design takes time

The company does not need to spend a large amount of money on the design of a logo; there are many cheap logo design services available online. However, you get what you pay for. My experience shows that a good logo cannot be designed in a matter of an hour or two. It takes at least 5 hours to conceptualize and another 5 to render digitally, including corrections and revisions. I would say 10 hours is an end result. Less then that should affect the quality of a design. The logo design process is an intense brainstorming session where brand directions emerge. Once the logo design is conceptualized, it takes a matter of hours to create a brand ideology for the company. A cheap logo design does not always mean a poor logo, but you have to be cautious. One of the keys to an impressive logo design is how well the company can communicate its requirements and ideas to the graphic designer. Another part is the experience, intelligence and skills of a designer.

Types of logo designs

A regular logo design company should be able to provide logo types and styles. For example, the letter-based logo will have minimal graphic elements, but only letters that may or may not form a type design like in Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Oracle, BBC, CNN, etc. Some logos will be created from geometric shapes as in the famous ‘swoosh’ of Nike, or as a shell motif in Shell, BMW, Volkswagen, Adobe, etc. Some other concept will be based on organic elements of the human or animal body, such as Puma using a graceful puma jump, MSN using a stylish butterfly, Air Canada using the maple leaf in their logo and throughout their branding, etc. Some of the big corporations spent millions of dollars to create a proper and recognizable logo.

All those types of logos will be used along with the full company name and a catchy tagline.

The success of a company largely depends on the design of a logo, not because it looks good, but because it helps marketing and business growth.
