Jesus stands for what is right

I wonder how people can justify stepping on others to get ahead. I don’t understand how people can just kill each other. I understand it even less when the children of the Lord do it, because it goes against everything that Jesus is. Those who follow him should try to follow in his footsteps as closely as possible.

Maddie is personally experiencing such injustice:
We have been involved in a legal battle with “friends” who have stolen a great deal from us and others. They transfer shares that do not belong to them and illegally lend accounts to other companies they have established. Criminal charges have been filed against them. But they are moving like steamrollers and using our company money to oppose us.

My husband is still fighting bravely and believes the end is in sight, but they have financially ruined us and the other shareholders. Every Sunday, they sit in the front row of church and serve on the boards of top schools.

Some days it seems that the Lord has forgotten about us, but He has also taken care of us and made sure that we have what we need in the last four years.

Please pray for an end to this matter and for God’s justice to prevail! We really need it now!

All Maddie asks is for the bad things to stop and for everything to be okay again. We can order this. We must ask for this, because this is exactly what Jesus stands for, for what is right and for justice. He represents honest business over the counter. He doesn’t like what goes on under the counter. To tell the truth, he hates it.

8You love when things go well; You hate when things go wrong.

Here we learn about another characteristic of Jesus: He represents honesty. He defends the truth. He doesn’t go down funny roads. If He says it’s going to rain, you don’t have to look up and wonder where the clouds are.

Jesus walked through life on earth without once sinning. He always did the right thing. In fact, it is because of this sinlessness that He was able to take the punishment for all mankind, suffering the punishment for our sin. How ironic is that! He who never sinned died on the cross for the sin of all.

I am always looking for ways to show our gratitude for this enormous work that Jesus did. A thank you is too small. So I always say that out of gratitude we should go and look for places where we can make a difference. Yes, but there is also another way.

We can show our gratitude by living correctly in all circumstances. Maybe we’re not as bad as Maddie’s “friends,” but maybe there’s something the Spirit is reminding you of right now, something you know Jesus doesn’t like at all. Maybe it’s time to get rid of it completely.

Holy Scripture
Hebrews 1:7-14

Reflection
Where are the places where your path does not go straight?
How can you change direction?
Can someone help you?

Prayer
Jesus, thank you for your example of justice and righteousness in everything. I know there are places in my life where I don’t always make the right decision, I don’t tell the truth, and sometimes I’m wrong. Please forgive me and help me to overcome the challenges as well. Amen.
