How to create your own spa bathroom on a budget

Who wouldn’t love to have their own spa bath in their home? Although a spa bath can be a great addition to a home, it can also be very expensive. Although completely renovating your bathroom to look like your local spa will cost you, there are some affordable tricks you can do to make your bathroom its own spa on a budget. Install the right lighting Lighting plays an important role when it comes to the bathroom. Adequate lighting is needed for things like putting on makeup or brushing and flossing, but if you’re trying to do a spa, you don’t want too bright light to bother you.

The solution for this is to install a dimmer switch for your bathroom lighting. This way, when you’re doing everyday tasks like putting on your makeup, you can have full light, and when you’re relaxing in the tub, you can have dim lighting to set the mood.

Keep the bathroom clean and organized: You won’t be able to relax in your spa bathroom if the space is messy and nothing is organized. Make sure you have a place for everything in the bathroom. Add baskets and bins to shelves and cabinets to keep things organized. If you want to dress the place up a bit, added wicker baskets and painted shelves not only add organization but also some flair.

Add the Right Accessories – The right accessories can make all the difference, and they don’t have to cost a lot.

· Candles strategically placed around the bathtub and throughout the bathroom can definitely add to the ambiance of a spa bath.

Other things like flower arrangements and air fresheners are also great additions.

· Install a radio or CD player in the bathtub or place one on a nearby shelf for soft, relaxing music.

· Add a plush bath mat for when you get out of the tub so your feet don’t hit the cold tile.

A water feature such as a small fountain can also create a relaxing environment for a spa bath.

Surround a small fountain with some small plants for your own oasis in your bathroom.

Choose peaceful colors for the room: For a spa bathroom, your best color choices, especially main wall colors, are neutrals or soft pastels. You don’t want anything too strong or vibrant like bright red or yellow for the walls and décor. You want that sense of peace that comes from lighter, more neutral colors.

However, you don’t have to keep the decor boring as you can add pops of color with towels, candles, flowers and other decorative items. Paint is very inexpensive, and simply painting over a dark or vibrant color with a neutral or pastel undertone can easily change the overall look of the room.

Creating a spa bath in your home may not involve spending as much money as you think. There are many ways you can create a spa-like feel without breaking your budget if you just get creative and work with what you have in the room.
