How to choose a water wagon

The Scoop: The Water Wagon

This contraption was first made known to the public, therefore, during the time of the World War. The water wagon back then was used by the military to serve as a threshold for drinking water resources during times of war. Soon the wagon was used to serve people who have little or virtually no source of clean, drinkable running water in their neighborhoods.

Today, people make use of the wagon for water delivery services. Usually, and this is perfectly understandable, it is the water refilling stations that make use of the wagons these days. Sometimes, the wagons are also used to facilitate the irrigation of gardens and farms, just as they do in the lawns of golf courses.

water wagon vs. Water Truck

There are basically two types of vehicles that are known to transport water to places. There is, of course, as we have known for some time, the wagon, and the other is the tanker. Now what is the difference between the two? Basically, it’s with the size. railcars are generally larger than the tanker. The tanker truck would be sufficient to supply water for small to medium sized construction grading projects as well as for the use of a small to medium sized water fill and supply station. On the other hand, the wagon is for larger-scale and heavier purposes, such as irrigation of an entire community, maintaining moisture in large tracts of land, and compacting soil for construction.

About the sizes of the water wagons

Water wagons come in a wide range of sizes related to their capacity or load. The smaller railcars could carry 500 to around 1,000 to 2,000 gallons of water. On the other hand, railcars intended for community or larger-scale purposes often have considerably larger capacities, ranging from 10,000 gallons, 80,000 gallons, and 600 to 700 barrels of water. There are also railcars ranging in size and capacity from 3,000 gallons to around 5,000 gallons.

Where to buy water wagons

Water cars are generally available for sale wherever trucks, heavy machinery, and large-scale transportation and construction equipment are sold. Cars can also be rented or purchased on a lease, which can dramatically reduce initial costs, but will entitle the owner to monthly or annual fees, depending on their contract with the lessor.
