Hotels in London: From Historic to Modern – Find out more about the capital

London is a city that really needs no introduction. From world-famous historic sites to emerging attractions, there is something for every style of traveler in the capital. London’s many hotels and restaurants also reflect the city’s diversity. Discover the best areas to meet your vacation needs…

Young groups: London is a great city to visit with a group of friends, as you can discover the most trendy and fun places. Try to stay in one of the hotels in East London, which is where London’s young hipsters hang out. Old Street, Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane are all great spots, with their speakeasy clubs, vintage markets and laid-back bars. Portobello Road, near Notting Hill, is most famous for its market, but it also has stylish bars filled with London’s most beautiful people. Come to these areas if you want to get away from the busier (and more expensive) nightspots of Mayfair.

Families: London is ideal for families, with many attractions for children. There is no shortage of recognizable sights that will thrill the whole family. The Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament and St. Paul’s Cathedral are all worth visiting for their rich history. For unbeatable views of the city, take a trip on the London Eye, which will give you a panoramic view of the city. Stroll through Covent Garden, with its variety of crowd-pleasing street entertainment that will wow children and parents alike. Most London hotels welcome children warmly, as do restaurants and cafes. Kids will love the excitement of the subway too, just be sure to keep an eye on your kids as the trains can get very busy at peak times and at the busiest stations.

Young and old couples alike – maybe it’s the statue of Eros influence, but London is definitely a romantic place! For a romantic day out head to Richmond Park and go horseback riding. Although you will have to prove that you can ride before they take you out for a ride in the park. In autumn, bundle up and head to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens to admire the park, resplendent with autumn colours. Head to the area around Soho to find some of the best restaurants in London. Head to Andrew Edmunds Restaurant to find flickering candles and a cozy atmosphere in a row house away from the crowds.

Whatever your age group or holiday preference, there will be something in London for you. With so many great attractions and stunning sights, you won’t be disappointed in Europe’s most diverse city.
