Homemade bath products… the pros and cons

When you browse the internet to find suitable bath products for your home spa bath, you can see many websites that offer receipts for homemade bath products: “Why pay more for expensive bath products when you can make your own products. ..forget… these expensive bathroom products at bathroom supply stores (drug, department, etc.)… You can make your own inexpensive bathroom product at home, etc., etc., etc.

It is right? Yes and no…

Let’s describe three main levels of natural bath products depending on various factors. Each level differs from the others by the complexity of composition, structure, technology, therapeutic value and results, biological activity of ingredients, etc.

– BEGINNER level of natural bath products: ANY REGULAR mineral bath salt scented (with aromatic oils) or unscented, colored or uncolored, etc. For example: Dead Sea salts, Epsom salt, ocean salt, sea salt, lake salt, etc.
Can you make these bath salts at home? Yes you can… It’s simple…
For the mix of bath salts, essential oils and food coloring in a bathtub and add warm water. That is all! Therefore, the “make at home” advice for this class of bath products is the correct and good advice. You can really make inexpensive bathroom products of this kind at home.

Home possibility: Yes, it is easy to make these kinds of products in your home spa.

Advantages: simple and cheap bathroom products.

Cons: This simple structure restricts the therapeutic range and benefits. The results depend directly on the amount of products added to the water. The more you add… the better.

– MEDIUM level of natural bath products: MUD baths (organic or mineral), HERBAL baths with natural oils infused with herbs and aromatic oils, milk baths, etc.

This class of bath products is more complex in composition and therapeutic value. This class requires more time, more efforts, more knowledge to do at home.
Obviously, you can’t do mud baths with normal mud, but buy a prepared mud extract: Moorish mud, Dead Sea mud, etc.
But you can make other bath products (herbal baths, milk baths) at home.
You need to add dried herbs to boiling water, simmer, strain the liquid, mix with salts or powdered milk, add essential oils.

Home possibility: Yes, it is possible (but not simple) for some of the products.

Pros: Active ingredients provide more therapeutic and wellness benefits for home spa baths.

Cons: This class requires more time, effort, and knowledge to complete. Unfortunately, many therapeutic ingredients of this class when prepared and produced in the home are unable and/or poorly able to penetrate the skin. Therefore, the therapeutic value is reduced.

– ADVANCED level of natural bath products: innovative therapeutic bath products with new concepts, ideas, composition and therapeutic capabilities with SMART properties and behaviour. These products offer a FULL spectrum of bathing experience and value with the benefits of leading bath products put together.
These kinds of natural bath products cannot be made at home. This class requires special technology, scientific steps, new ideas, innovations, unique solutions, clinical studies to demonstrate advanced value, complex ingredients, etc.
This class is for advanced bathers who are trying to experience more interesting ideas and products than regular mass market products.

Home Possibility: No, you cannot do this class at home.

Pros: A more complex composition provides a smart influence with more therapeutic value, levels, and beneficial results. The main therapeutic key now is biological activity and intelligent courage. The smarter… the better.

Cons: It is not easy to find this class. Such products are often offered only to professional balneological spa markets (water therapy, hydrotherapy).

Do you need samples of this class? Please do not reveal this idea to manufacturers!

Idea: try to combine the main bathroom products in one bathroom at home:

– bath salts

– mud bath

– herbal bath

– thalassotherapy bath

– aroma bath

Not a simple and easy task… I would predict it would be a nightmare to combine them in a bathroom… Intrigued?
