Ile aux Aigrettes – Ile aux Aigrettes: a small coral island off the coast of the city of Mahebourg is a nature conservation site preserved by the Mauritius Wildlife Foundation. The island is home to the rarest birds in the world, the kestrel, the pink dove. The extremely rare Phelsuma Green Gecko and the Aldabra Giant Tortoise can also be seen here.
Grand Bassin – A lake situated in an isolated mountainous area in the Savanne district is very popular among Mauritius’ top holiday destinations. The Grand Bassin is a sacred lake of the Hindu community in Mauritius as they make a pilgrimage every year on Maha Sivaratri / “The great night of Siva”.
Mauritius Botanical Garden – The botanical garden is also known as Pamplemonsses Garden and SSR Botanical Garden. Located near Port Louis, Pamplemonsses is the oldest botanical garden in the southern hemisphere.
