Best Basketball Commercials

Here we go. A look at the top five basketball commercials. Anywhere from funny basketball commercials to just plain candy.

5. Steve Nash with Vitamin Water: This hilarious basketball commercial wasn’t widely aired, but it’s really fun. Reminds me of Zoolander. So if you like that kind of humor, you have to see this. It’s basically Steve Nash saying all these outrageous things about himself while doing a modeling shoot and putting on makeup.

Four. Be Like Mike (Gatorade) Original: The One Who Started It All, Guys. “Like Mike, I wish you could be like Mike.” How that has been maintained even today. How could it not be a top-notch commercial if even years later people keep saying “I wish I could be like Mike”?

3. Nike Freestyle: This Nike commercial is exactly what it says it is. Freestyle. It has a lot of people making sick moves with basketball. It’s crafted at an absolutely sweet pace and it makes you want to go out there and learn and do the moves that the people in the commercial are doing.

2. Let your game do the talking: once again, a commercial for Nike. I’m not a fan of Nike, but the commercials are good. This Nike commercial features a bunch of kids doing Michael Jordan moves. They then go on to do some of their most prominent dunks. It ends up with them having the same game winners as him. It’s basically a bunch of kids in real Michael Jordan enhancement with sweet music. Simply amazing.

1. Kobe and Lebron Puppets – These commercials were absolutely incredible. For once, it was like the Superbowl when I watched the NBA playoffs because I couldn’t wait for another one of these commercials to come out. There was a “playoffs” commercial where Lebron is totally nuts and he’s running around doing his chalk ritual and Kobe says “I’ve been there, I’ve done that.” Then there’s the “babysitting” commercial where they have to babysit this pesky kid. The good news comes when the boy is shown his shoe room and he shuts up and takes his inhaler. There’s the “rings” commercial in which Kobe tells Lebron how many rings he has and the “car jump” commercial in which Kobe’s puppet does Kobe’s original (fake) car jump. This is absolutely cool.
