The secret behind many bass fishing techniques is the knowledge and understanding of the proper presentation to catch the lunker we dreamed of the night before. Well, every time I see a bed of reeds, this is exactly the first thing that goes through my mind, and my heart starts pounding like I just won the lottery. It’s really no wonder this happens because any good elite bassmaster angler will tell you that bass fishing is gold. Here are some things to keep in mind when fishing for the rods.

1. Get a great deal. This is one of the best bass fishing tips when it comes to rod fishing. The reason is that the weed structure is quite thin that it surrounds the bass and without setting yourself far enough away from the bass and looking for those longer distance casts, you risk scaring off the bass. So it makes sense that the further you are from the bass in this situation, the less sensitive the bass will be to your presentations.

2. The trajectory of the cast. I bet you never saw it coming. Many bass fishermen rarely consider the actual trajectory of their cast, but speak to an elite bass player and he will tell you that he is thinking about it all the time. It is one of the most critical aspects of getting a great cast. Thick rods do not lend themselves well to throwing or rod throwing techniques and will cause you a lot of trouble. What I like to do in growing reeds is projected for the sky. The idea is to make it high and long. By doing this, you will have a better chance of landing between the rods smoothly and placing that bait or lure directly on the bass’s nose.

3. If you don’t get a Strike “Dead Stick It”. Fishing for bass on the rods is like walking a fine line and sometimes you won’t know if you’ve crossed it. You could be sitting far enough back, casting your lures skyward and still not taking a hit. It’s hard to say the exact reason, you might think it’s far enough away from the bass not to freak out, but it’s not. Maybe the guy you caught in this spot and an hour earlier made the shy bass, there are a million reasons, so if you don’t get a strike after a few pitches, stick with them. Let your bait or lure sit there for a few minutes, in case the bass can think about its presentation before nailing it. After you are convinced that there is nothing there (or your patience just can’t take it anymore), move the lure back slowly, do not ride the recovery as it will not only scare the bass, but the hood is very likely stay hanging on the reeds. then you’ve finished like dinner. This method of fishing for bass can be frustrating, but learning how to handle brush tackle is the real winner for bass fishing on the rods.

Well, there you have a couple of quick bass fishing tips for fishing the rods that are sure to help you catch more bass. The goal of this series was to provide you with excellent bass fishing techniques so that you can become the next elite bassmaster.
