Quickly switch from fear to happiness

Some experts say that a person’s most desired goal should be to live in a state of happiness, as if it were a constant and stable way of being and feeling. That belief puts pressure on us and actually creates exactly the opposite effect, counteracting any effort at true happiness.

The truth is that the emotional state of each person varies greatly many times throughout the day. In fact, one’s emotional state is often much more variable than is commonly realized and can change instantly. In fact, every living person on this planet experiences a myriad of emotional state changes during the span of a day. We constantly switch up and down the emotional scale as we experience things with our senses.

All changes in emotional state have the same cause: a change in the frequency of the energy around us and how we interpret it. Everything we call emotions is simply how our brain interprets the energies our physical senses receive. Those energies can range from those we can see, touch, and hear to those that are beyond the capabilities of our physical senses.

Some of the emotions resulting from experiencing these energies may seem similar and are therefore perceived as the same. But any variation in the volume or intensity of an emotion is a complete change of emotional state.

Basically, we have classified all the energies as we feel them into two types of emotions: fear and love. Fear is simply lower frequencies of energy. We can experience fear as “a sinking feeling,” loss of energy, reluctance to take action, weakness, and a host of other sensations that block forward movement. Love is at the other end of the energy scale and promotes experiences such as creativity, the desire to become active, increased physical energy, and a sense of freedom.

As the day goes by, notice the fluctuations in your emotions. Practice becoming aware of how you quickly move up and down the energy frequency scale from some form of fear to some form of love, from feeling blocked to feeling free, from feeling weak to feeling energized.

When you have gained the ability to easily and quickly sense shifts in emotional energy, the next step is to consciously empower yourself to shift into higher frequency ranges of emotional energy. You know… happiness. A simple method is to remind yourself of a feeling of well-being that you experienced. In other words, something you enjoyed with your physical senses. Here is a list of some that I experienced during my morning recently:

  • Play – A light misty rain falls. When I go out to fill the bird feeders, I turn my face to the sky and revel in the tickling sensation of the little raindrops on my skin.
  • Play – When I get back to the house, I settle into my big, comfortable, overstuffed chair, sitting cross-legged as I prepare to write my Morning Pages. If furniture could hug, this chair would give prize hugs.
  • Vision – I look out the tall window and see the raindrops lined up on the gutter. They remind me of people lining the street, happily watching a parade.
  • audience – My cat jumps on the arm of the chair to take his rightful place next to me while I write. His deep, rumbling purrs are like soothing music to me.
  • Smell – The oven turns on and I smell the delicious aroma of the essential oil that I put in the new oven filter that I installed this morning. I breathe slowly and deeply to better enjoy the spicy aroma of the oil.
  • Taste – Before I start writing, I take a big sip of the water in my glass, in which I have put drops of elderberry extract. The water tastes delicately like berries and is very pleasant.

In a matter of very few minutes I have used each of my physical senses to raise my emotions to a new level of frequencial energy. The result is that I change into a state of being happy.

Throughout the day, when I start to feel my emotional energy level drop due to outside influences of low frequency energies, which I perceive with one of my physical senses, I can quickly and easily recall one of the happiest influences, like the ones I listed and have instantly offset the lower frequency with a higher one. Clever! My emotional state is saved from a downward slide by using the memory of a happier and more pleasurable sensory experience.

A higher state of frequencial energy (bliss!) is easily and quickly created by being aware of the physical senses you choose to focus on. Change your own frequencial energy state using this simple technique: Make a list of the things around you that bring you happiness. Keep it handy for quick reference in those times when you feel your personal energy frequency slipping into the realms of fear. And add it often.
