Proform 810 TR Treadmill Review – How Does the 810 Tr Compare?

Should you invest in the Proform 810 TR treadmill or not? When you look online, it can be difficult to determine this, because there are so many conflicting reviews.

Be careful who you listen to

Many sites that review this and other treadmills are actually affiliates of the company … although they do not promote this fact. Also, sites where customer reviews are mostly positive generally HAPPEN that they are the sites that sell it.

In other words …

You have to be careful who you get your information from. With that disclaimer, here is an “unbiased” review of the 810 tr.

Price

Let’s face it, cost is often what drives people to buy a Proform. They have never been known for their quality or customer service … but the only thing you can always count on is affordable prices. This model sells for $ 800, which is something of a “midway” for the company.

Energy

It has an output of 2.25 “continuous horsepower” which is actually quite good. Many other models from the company are only 1.25 or 1.75, so this is a big step forward. However, it is still an exaggeration to say that the Proform 810 TR treadmill has enough power to allow the run.

Walking area

This is a very respectable ’20’ by ’55’ inches, which allows taller users to use it quite comfortably.

maximum weight

It can support people up to 325 pounds … again pretty impressive.

Characteristics

This model has a “daily log” system that allows you to keep track of each workout. But of course a pencil and paper can accomplish the same thing, and without adding anything to the price. It also has the infamous ‘iFit’ system. This allows you to go online and automatically download a customized workout directly to the machine. This is a cool feature … but again it’s something you can easily accomplish on your own. Why pay more for it?

Warranty

This is where this machine really falls short. The 15-year engine warranty is adequate, but only 12 months for parts is a joke. Of course, this is better than typical “90-day” parts on most business models, but it’s still not going to be enough.

Quality

Admittedly, this is not one of the best-built machines on the market, one of the main reasons for the short warranty. The inferior quality, coupled with the lack of power, make this nothing more than a “walking” machine.

The bottom line …

If you’re just going to walk, the Proform 810 TR treadmill will get the job done … but if you plan to run, you need something more serious.
