On the realities of rock

The life of a rock star is always described as wild, exciting, non-stop rock and roll. Those who have made it big in the music industry as rock stars are constantly on tour giving concerts, signing autographs, rocking out on stage with their own styles of music, meeting with managers, producing CDs and DVDs, and much more.

The thing is, the life of a rock star is not as easy and fun as it is portrayed in movies, music videos, and mainstream media. These talented singers who started out with the goal of making great rock music are constantly on the go, earning money and honing their images and careers, just to survive the ever-developing competition between one rock band or one rock star against another.

But no one will deny the power of rock music and the intimidating presence of a rock star. The music genre itself has made so many trademarks throughout history that the music industry without rock music will always be incomplete and lifeless. Rock music has had a huge impact resulting in the kind of music we have today, which is why so many teenagers and musical wannabes go out of their way to live the life of a rock star, have fun like a rock star rock and, of course, become the rock star they really want to be. For the rock star himself, he or she will always be a talent that many hope to be able to blow their minds with powerful rock music, a message behind each song and make a difference in the world. Their names or the logos of the bands they are a part of are printed on billboards, outfits are sold in malls, and CDs are sold in stores around the world.

The sad thing about rock today is when commercialism seeps into the beauty of music. It is due to commercialism that many top rock stars fall into unknown unpopularity due to the declining quality of their music. We see good bands like Linkin Park, POD and other bands falling apart due to the pressures their careers are under. But despite these ongoing problems with rock bands and rock stars today, the genre, the style, and the living icon will always be figures to look up to.

Many youngsters and teenagers will always experience a certain point in their young lives where they want to try their hand at being a rock star. Not only does it give them a powerful, influential, and just plain “cool” image, but they can play songs that just about anyone would enjoy. People who have lived through the rock and roll era will always dance and sing songs by Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marely and the rest. It is not only because their music brings out the energy and life of people, it also speaks a message that makes people aware of important issues such as war, honesty, loyalty, etc.
