Natural Tinnitus Treatment: How To Reduce Tinnitus By Eating Healthy Foods

One of the most common triggers for ringing in the ears or tinnitus is a deficiency of vitamins and minerals. As long as this deficiency condition persists, no matter how you try to cure your ear problem, you will not be successful. The best way to combat tinnitus related to vitamin and mineral deficiencies is by taking enough essential vitamin and mineral supplements. While some supplements may work, including healthy foods in your meals can help build your stamina and reduce hearing symptoms. Below are some recommended vitamins and minerals for treating tinnitus.

1. Zinc

Zinc deficiency is believed to be one of the main causes of ringing in the ears. There may be a close relationship with the fact that high concentrations of zinc are mainly found in the inner ear. Vitamins B1 and B9 stabilize the nervous system, including the auditory nerves; vitamin B3 increases circulation and decreases abnormal blood flow and turbulence in the inner ears; vitamin B6 treats nausea and depression; and enough vitamin B12 helps prevent tinnitus. Besides sea vegetables, salmon, trout, clams, and liver are the best sources of vitamin B12.

3. Coenzyme Q10

This vitamin-like compound is fat or oil soluble. Coenzyme Q10, or also known as CoQ10, is a powerful antioxidant that has been used to treat muscular dystrophy, migraines, hypertension, and neurodegenerative diseases. While CoQ10 is easy to obtain in supplement form, you can also find large amounts in foods such as soybean oil, olive oil, rapeseed oil, sardines, avocado, pork, and beef.

4. Resveratrol

Resveratrol is another antioxidant found in red wine, berries (eg, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries), and peanuts. This antioxidant prevents premature aging and cell damage, a property that makes this substance called “the fountain of youth” by some people. Resveratrol is also beneficial in treating memory loss, as well as protecting the inner ear from hearing loss.
