Charter away from the Preakness

The Kentucky Derby is in the books. One horse won and is now the favorite (usually) in the second race of the Triple Crown derby: The Preakness. It is a flat horse race run by three-year-old thoroughbreds and occurs every year two weeks after the Kentucky Derby and three weeks before the last jewel in the crown, the Belmont Stakes.

This race is run at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore Maryland and lasts 9.5 furlongs. It was first contested in 1873 and traditionally ranks second in attendance only after the granddaddy of all races, the Kentucky Derby.

If you live near Maryland it’s relatively easy to see the fastest three-year-olds in action, but if you have to fly, there’s always the production of commercial flights to deal with, unless of course you choose to charter a plane to get you and your party there on time and in style.

Charter a jet is cheaper than you think and best of all, you can choose your own schedule. Forget the long lines trying to clear security and being squashed in your seat for hours. Not when you rent. Chartered jets give you ample leg, shoulder, elbow, and head room, and you can usually configure the seats any way you like. There’s entertainment at your fingertips, a kitchen for snacks or meals on the go, and the security of knowing your bags are with you at all times. There is no baggage carousel for you!

You will arrive refreshed and happy and in time for the song of Maryland, My Maryland and the party on the field that is always a great time. After the race, the painter can be seen climbing the weather vane to paint the winning colors on the horse and rider that adorn it. Heck, you’ll even be there to see the winning horse get their blanket of Black Eyed Susan, the Maryland state flower, although they can’t use the real ones as they don’t bloom until July. That may remain our little secret …

It’s no wonder that, the world’s horse racing megastar, Secretariat still holds the speed record for the Preakness Stakes. He won in 1:53 in 1973, which was the intermediate race of his Triple Crown. Now you too can be a star … when you choose to charter.
