Audi A4 – Germany’s most popular car

Audi has always positioned itself somewhere between the comfort of Mercedes and the sportiness of BMW, upholding this tradition until now. Audi A4 is presented with a simple exterior design, considered a sign of elegance, and with an interior that looks like a simplified airplane cabin. Although it seems that we cannot say too much about it, the body hides many innovative technologies. Audi’s motto is “Progress through technology”.

We can say of the Audi A4 that it is “a compact executive car produced by the German automaker Audi AG since late 1994. The initial generation A4 succeeded the previous four generations of the Audi 80”. The automatic design of the Audi A4 consists of a longitudinally oriented engine at the front, with transaxle-type programs that immediately increase to the rear of the engine. “Motive power is transmitted to the front wheels, or on some models, using Audi Quattro’s ‘trademark’ permanent four-wheel drive system via a Torsen center differential.” (Wikipedia)

In Leipzig or Ingolstadt, the Audi A4 was chosen as the most popular car. For the ninth time, more than 100 weekly newspapers from the former East Germany had invited readers to vote for “Our car”. To choose, in the vote, 56 car models have been registered, released during the last couple of years. More than 100,000 opinions were received, pointing to the Audi A4 as the first choice in the survey.

Audi A4 enjoys numerous awards, including the “Golden Steering Wheel” awarded by the newspaper “Bild am Sonntag”, the “Auto 1” trophy from “AutoBild” being named the best new car in Europe. Audi A4 continues a success story by receiving the name “Our car”. It is the fourth time that the brand with four rings has won in the readers’ poll. In 2001, the old-generation Audi A4 took first place, in the 2005 Audi A6, and last year, the Audi TT. The award was presented during the AMI in Leipzig. At the “Our Car” awards event in 2008, two other Audi models were ranked in the top ten as the most popular car in German.
